Does virtual reality obstruct or catalyze the grief process?

Abstract · Virtual reality is a well-known tool for the treatment of anxiety disorders in the field of applied medicine, as desensitization techniques are well-established nationally and internationally also. However, virtual reality has recently shown a new side of itself: it has enabled a mother to virtually reunite with her deceased daughter. The topic firstly requires an introduction to VR glasses as a prevalent tool in the technical environment, and secondly an examination of the possible consequences it has on the grieving process. The prime question is whether such an experience can be integrated into the grieving process, and whether it serves an obstruction or a catalyst?
