Abstract · Losing a child, in any circumstances, is always a tragic and heartbreaking event. Yet, there exist, sadly, such cases where the grief is heightened by other difficulties, too. The short life of the small English boy, Charlie Gard was also accompanied by these. The lack of consensus between the family and the medical team brought about such legal and ethical dilemmas that have become sad mementos of the last months of the child’s life, born with a rare, incurable illness. The study aims at presenting the particulars of the case, from more points of view, striving to be as objective as possible.
