On the psychology of tribute videos on file-sharing sites

Abstract · It is extremely diverse how people cope with loss, grief, and missing their loved ones. There is an extensive and thorough literature on this topic, and many national and internationally renowned thanatologists study it as well. In this study I analyse a unique way of coping with traumatic grief; namely, remembering the deceased by photo displays with background music or by short films (depicting them). People commemorate them by sharing these videos on file-sharing sites, in addition to their usual stages of trauma recovery. The main objectives of my study are the examination of certain keywords and the theoretical findings of the interdisciplinary literature on the concepts of grief, trauma and loss. My primary task is to give a short and analytic introduction to the theoretical background inherent to this topic. In addition, I focus on the adaptation of tribute videos into the grieving process. In order to ensure a methodological consistency of this study, I collect my examples from YouTube.com, one of the biggest and most well-known file-sharing sites.

Traumatic grief as an organizational pattern in poems

- Illustrated by an example of Attila József

Abstract · This study aims to examine the appearance of grief, loss and trauma recovery process on a linguistic and poetic level and in poetic expressions. My study lists the theoretical findings on traumatic (mourning) grief dated back into the early 2000s. In order to prove my hypotheses referring to these theoretical findings, and in line with my objectives, I also imply Attila József's traumatic grief and loss trauma depicted in his poems, as an example.

The symbolic relationship between death and sexuality in the character of the femme fatale

Abstract · This study aims to analyse the relationship between death and sexuality. These topics are treated as taboo issues in our society and may trigger different emotions. Yet death and sexuality are combined in a strange symbol, which is an independent and combined expression. The use of this symbol, the character of the "femme fatale" is widespread in literature, filmography and media as well. As time flew by, this character has lost its fatal quality, and has become a particularly attractive and exciting symbol. The femme fatale was developed thousands of years ago. Its development reflects the social status, role and judgement of women of a certain era. Today, the femme fatale is still considered as a mysterious female character, remaining an unfathomable and timeless mystery thanks to her sex appeal and effects on men.
